This is my first real attempt at a splatter manicure, and I did not realize how messy the process was hahah.... It was fun, but messy! I didn't put any tape around my cuticles before starting, which was a BIG mistake. My cuticles and fingers got flooded with nail polish. I spent a good 15 minutes cleaning up. I hope next time my splatters can be more defined and not so big (like my pinky). All I did was dip the bottom of a straw into the bottle of nail polish. Then placed it above my nail and blew through the opposite end. Anyone have any good tips?
I started with two coats of Orly Green Apple! It is the perfect Spring color! For the splatters, I used Sinful Colors Blue By You and OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?. For an accent nail, I used Orly Truly Tangerine.

This is way to cute!!!
I love the paint splatter manicure!
I've heard (from chalkboard nails) that using black or white helps bring out the colors a lot instead of using a color for your base! Maybe you should try that!
Also, I think it helps to use really opaque colors instead of jellies -
I know I'm no expert but I am really into this type of manicure hehe :) I hope this is helpful and not annoying!
That's so neat!
Can't wait for my package; so excited :):):):)
I love these! The colors look great together! I haven't tried this technique myself but I read somewhere that thinning the polish helps. I'll have to try it for myself!
What a fun and awesome manicure!
Looks great! I love the colors you chose! I can't ever get my splatters to come out right!
love love the colors!
It looks very cool. I still haven´t tried splatter mani, because it is so messy :S
Oooh looks awesome! The application seems fun to do!
I've tried splatter but instead of dipping directly into the bottle I put some drops on a paper plate and dipped the straw. Smaller splatter.
Ohh Amy It's not bad at all for a first attempt! I love the look it gives, it's really cool :)
This turned out great! I have no actual advice but an alternative so that clean up is easier. Instead of polish use acrylic paint( water it down a little) so that you only need a cotton bud with water to clean up. Also with the same paint you could try a flat or any kind of stiff brush and after you dip it run your finger (or pencil?) across the top so that they "spray"? Sorry if that last bit didn't make much sense I don't know how else to describe! XD
Very beautifull!
Lovely, I love the accent nail.
gorgeous splatter!!
Oh I love your color combos! I tried doing this once and it failed horribly. Lol. I'll definitely have to try again in the future. :)
Loving this splatter!

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who's struggled with splatter manis. My only tips besides those already shared was on someone's Splatterday post, they suggested using a bendy straw.Your splatter looks good, BTW- very cool color combo!
