Today is Tutorial Tuesday! It didn't take me long to figure out which tutorial I wanted to try. Lately I've been admiring people's fishtail braid manis and wanted to try it! I followed Lucy's Stash's fishtail braid tutorial. Although it didn't turn out as nicely as hers, I think it was decent for my first try. =( I am a little embarrassed of my first attempt but oh well!
I do know I layered my polishes WAY too thick. You can see what I mean in the photo hahaha... Next time, I will try to do thinner coats and straighter lines. I didn't get to wear this mani for long because it never dried. =(
I used Barry M Cyan Blue, Barry M Blueberry I/C, and Finger Paints Pop Art Purple. I followed Lucy's Stash's fishtail braid tutorial. My photo isn't color accurate. I'm not sure if that is from layering all the colors or from my camera. I suspect my camera. It doesn't play nice with purples and blues.
Have you tried a fishtail braid mani? What do you think of my first attempt?

I think it is pretty good! Try polishes with the same width brush and longer drying time in between 'strands'. Worked well for me :)
Super cute, I love the colors!
This looks amazing! I wish I could do this, I'm completely nail art hopeless!

I think it looks good for a first attempt! I love the colors you used, even if the camera didn't! I wouldn't be embarrassed, this is how we learn! :)

I didn't know about this kind of mani yet, but I think it looks pretty awesome! Love the colors together!
I don't mind the lines not being straight, it makes it look less like it was stamped on or something!
I just did a fishtail braid mani yesterday too! It definitely looks a lot easier than it is... but I love the look of it!

You did a great job! I had the same issues as you. It's funny how 3 of us did the braided fishtail!! :)
I think it's great! I love the colors you picked too.
I love the colour choices. Looks amazing!
It looks great! I just tried this for the first time yesterday. The polish is ridiculously thick in order to get even color on each stripe. I don't know how you can possibly keep this kind of manicure thin with all those different coats of colors. Here is my attempt just on accent nails:
