I saw a few shatter (polish) half moon manis on Pinterest that I really liked (I especially liked one in particular. Click here to see it!). I don't normally do half moon manis. I am horrible at them. It never fails; the polish always leaks under the sticker. I decided to give it a try using a magnetic polish instead of a shatter polish. It looked better in my head, but now that it is executed, I am not sure I like the final look. What do you think about this look? (I thought about trying this with a magnetic polish that is similar to the color of the base so it blends more.)
The base is two coats of China Glaze 2NITE (LOVE this polish by the way), and the tip is a (goldish brown) magnetic polish called Toasted. This polish was bought from You Mix Cosmetics when they use to sale them.

I like the concept but I don't think it was the right color combo. You're nails are gorgeous, by the way.
I like it!
Try using a line of navy or dusty blue polish along the line of the other two colors to demarcate them? I think using a magnet with vertical lines might have worked better as well. But I like the concept. I think I've tried something like this before but it was a complete and utter flop.
Oh! What about stamping with silver or grey across where the two polishes meet?
I think this looks nice! More like a French than a Half Moon though ;)
i like this!
That always happens with I try to paint my tips, too. I suck at it, lol! I've tried for years and I've tried every technique and tape I could find and NOPE. Ah well! It's a unique manicure! I love 2NITE, but my mom stole mine! >:O lol!
I like it looks very futuristic, like a dress
This is quite an interesting take of a half moon. I think the color combination is not really popping for me maybe a lighter color for the base it's not actually a fail though. Lol I hope I'm making any sense just my opinion. I actually like it very neat mani as always.
I think it looks good!
I like it. If my nails were long enough, I'd try it. I'd be interested to see it done in different color combos. Red and green would look awesome for Christmas.
great minds think alike I love it and actually did the same thing last week just that my base was red with brown magnetic
I'll say give it another try with matchy colors but I like it!
I really like this. Usually you just see magnetics used on their own, it's a nice change of pace!
Love 2Night - not so much the fatty tip and I do like fatter tip colorings on occcasion - just not liking the puter kind of gold that this one is showing up as - maybe it's different in other lighting?
I think it looks neat! But it MAY look better if you used colors in a similar color family. Like red holo+red magnetic. I want to try this!!
Great combination and I find it very elegant!
This is so original! I'm not sure about the color combination, but the magnetic-polish-tip is genius :)
Realy interesting nail polish! I like your blog :)
