How do you clean up your nails after painting them?
When painting my nails, I paint as slowly as possible which minimizes cleanup. Most of the time, I can get away with doing very little cleanup. I use 100% acetone and small angled eye liner brush (or a pointy q-tip, but I generally don't like using. They leave lint behind). I dip the brush in acetone, tap any excess off, and slowing remove any unwanted nail polish.
How do you remove glitter polish?
I use the tin foil method, and it works really well! I take 10 cotton pads, regular polish remover, and 10 squares of tin foil. Soak the cotton pad with remover and wrap around finger. Secure it in place with the tin foil. After 5-10 minuts, I remove the tin foil. The glitter should slide off your nail. Check out Kayla's tutorial on this. Check out Nailing This for two more options to remove glitter.
What base and top coat do you use?
For my base coat, I always use Orly Nail Defense. Also, I wrap my tips making sure to get the edges and backside of my nails. For top coat, I grab either Orly Nail Defense, China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat, Out the Door top coat, or Seche Vite. My favorite is the China Glaze. I use Orly Nail Rescue for the occasional crack or break. |
